Standards At A Glance

ASTM F436 and EN 14399-6 are both used for structural washer purchasing, but they belong to different standard systems. Buyers should quote the standard required by the project, drawing or bolt assembly specification rather than treating the names as interchangeable.

When To Use ASTM F436

Use ASTM F436 or F436M when the project specification, bolt set, purchase record or customer drawing names the ASTM reference. Send bolt size, finish, hardness target, inspection document needs and packing details.

When To Use EN 14399-6 Or DIN 6916

Use EN 14399-6 or DIN 6916 when the inquiry follows European high-strength structural bolting practice. DJ WASHERS lists EN 14399-6, DIN 6916 and large DIN 6916 RFQ reference sizes up to M72 on the structural washer page.

Inspection And Documents

Structural washer buyers often ask for material certificates, hardness inspection, dimensional checks and packing traceability. The quality control page explains IQC, first article inspection, IPQC, FQC and batch traceability.
